The Postcard Poetry Contest — Summer 2025

Theme:
This summer, Creation Magazine invites poets to send work that captures the fleeting, sun-drenched essence of the season. We’re looking for short poems that feel like a memory, a moment, or a message from far away—work that could fit on a postcard, and linger like one, too. Think warmth, travel, distance, longing, or light. Send us something brief and bright—something that holds summer in 10 lines or less.

Guidelines for Poetry Submissions:
– Submit up to three poems (around 10 lines each)
– We welcome all styles and forms, as long as the poem fits within the line limit
– Poems should engage with the theme of summer, travel, and ephemerality in creative or unexpected ways
– Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please withdraw individual poems if they are accepted elsewhere
– We do not accept previously published work

Prizes:
🥇 1st Place: $100, all 3 winning postcards, and an author interview on the Creation website
🥈 2nd & 🥉 3rd Place: All 3 postcards + author interview

Winners will also be published in Creation Magazine and celebrated across our platforms.

Let your words travel. We can’t wait to read them.

Editing With Intention
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting writers and fostering a more accessible literary landscape, we’re excited to begin offering editorial services. We believe editing should be a collaborative, affirming process—and one that’s financially accessible. That’s why we offer sliding-scale pricing, tailored to your needs and budget, whether you’re seeking developmental guidance, line-level feedback, or just a fresh set of eyes.

This summer, we’re opening up space for a small number of projects, so we can give each manuscript the deep attention it deserves. If you’re working on something you believe in, we’d love to hear about it.

Submit your name, a brief description of your project, and the kind of support you’re looking for below.
We’re honored to read your words—and to be part of your process.
