Volume 08: A Blueprint Issue – Cover Art Submissions

Theme: A Blueprint Issue envisions feminist futures—whether personal, political, or societal. We’re looking for cover art that captures this spirit, playing with the idea of blueprints as both practical plans and speculative maps for what comes next. How do we sketch new possibilities? How do we visualize transformation, revolution, or reclamation? We’re open to literal or abstract interpretations, from architectural renderings to conceptual visions of change.

Guidelines for Cover Art Submissions:

  • We accept digital and traditional artwork, including illustration, photography, painting, collage, and mixed media.
  • Artwork should fit the 8.5 x 11-inch cover format (portrait orientation).
  • Submissions must be high resolution (300 dpi minimum, PNG or JPEG preferred).
  • Please include a short artist statement (100-200 words) about how your work connects to the theme.
  • Selected artwork will be featured as the cover of our printed issue.
  • We do not accept AI-generated art.

Volume 08: A Blueprint Issue – Nonfiction Submissions

Theme: A Blueprint Issue calls for nonfiction that envisions feminist futures—whether personal, political, or societal. What could a feminist world look like? How do we build it? How do we reckon with the past while drafting new possibilities? The title plays with blueprints as both practical plans and speculative maps for what comes next. We are looking for essays that engage with these ideas, whether through memoir, reportage, criticism, or hybrid forms. Show us blueprints in action—whether they exist in policy, protest, community, or the quiet reinvention of the self.

Guidelines for Nonfiction Submissions:

  • We accept creative nonfiction up to 5,000 words.
  • Flash nonfiction (under 1,000 words) is welcome.
  • We are open to a range of approaches—personal essays, lyric nonfiction, cultural critique, and hybrid forms.
  • Pieces should explore the theme in nuanced, unexpected ways.
  • Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please withdraw your piece if it is accepted elsewhere.
  • We do not accept previously published work.Volume 08: A Blueprint Issue – Nonfiction Submissions

Your work can be speculative or grounded, utopian or complicated—what matters is the vision, the blueprint for something new.

Submissions should be no longer than 5,000 words and formatted in a standard font (Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced). We accept original, unpublished fiction only. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but please notify us immediately if your piece is accepted elsewhere.

Volume 08: A Blueprint Issue – Poetry Submissions

Theme: A Blueprint Issue invites poets to imagine feminist visions for the future—whether personal, political, or societal. What could a feminist world look like? We are looking for poetry that sketches, sculpts, and reimagines the possibilities of tomorrow.

Guidelines for Poetry Submissions:

  • Submit up to five poems (no more than 10 pages total).
  • We welcome all styles and forms, from lyric to experimental, traditional to hybrid.

  • We do not accept previously published work.3
